La Havana, the technological surveillance and the transfer of technologies in the biologic field shall be some of the subjects to be analyzed in the III Congress of Industrial Property that shall take place between the 15 to the 17 of April at the Occidental Miramar Hotel, at the Cuban capital.
Sponsored by the Cuban Office of Industrial Property (OCPI) and the Sciences, Technology and Environment Ministry (CITMA), more than hundred of delegates from nine countries, amongst them Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Spain, United States, México, Panama, Peru and Venezuela, will attend the event.
Well-known national and foreign experts shall be in charge of the professional program, which includes the impact of patents on genetic recourses over scientific policies, trademarks rights and new challenges, as well as the protection of traditional knowledge.
María de los Ángeles Sánchez Torres, general director of the OCPI, reaffirmed the Cuban cooperation at bilateral and multilateral stages and its roll helping the World Intellectual Property Organization for the development.
Actually, the OCPI is concentrated on investigations on the search of data related with the state of the art of renewable energies with the aim of furnishing information that serve as base to take decisions regarding new investments, development and insertion.
During the congress, the Industrial Property Coin will be granted. This prize was established to recon those natural and legal persons who had distinguished in the activity, and who, up to the moment, amount to 152.
